Musical Mobile

Musical mobiles are a must have for all babies! I'm glad my church gave me one when my babies were born. Here's them looking at the mobile when they were around 2 months plus.. One just stares at it in wonder and the other just flap her arm up and down excitedly. Aww....

However after a while, they got kinda bored looking at it. So we went around hunting for another mobile.. That's when we realised that the gadget is so darn expensive! $50 for a oh-kay looking one and $80 for a cute one. So we went to the Deepavali Bazaar and bought this for our gals instead! I think i like it more than our gals. Its so colourful!

DIYable stuff! Painted fabric silhouettes

OOOOOOOOOhhhh myy goodness. Its been a month since i last posted. No i didnt get involved in the Thai riots. haha. Thanks for your concern! :) and i didnt get lost in Thailand! I was lost in my work!!! arh.

i just came back to work from my 3 months maternity leave, and there are tons and tonsss of things waiting for me to finish up. Phew. can hardly breathe.

In the meantime, here's a DIY i've always wanted to do for my kids room, but hadnt had the time (as usual!) to do it. i know.. i've been saying no time no time so often it sounds pretty lame now.. heh .. but luckily for me, my kids are still babies. so they cant protest.

This painted fabric silhouette was done by designer Anna Maria Horner for the Matha Stewart Show. For tutorial click here.

My 3 months maternity leave is over in a blink of an eye. And the government just announced that maternity leave will be 4 months next year instead of 3 months. drats! i just missed it.

Balcony chairs

We bought 2 chinese 'antique' chairs from Barang Barang for the balcony to replace the daybed which we have moved inside the house. We still think the daybed looks better in the balcony but it is a maintenance headache as the cushions and seating gets so dusty.

How do u like the new look? daybed looks better hor?

Bling Bling your walls with Swarvorski Crystals

I've seen people adorn their handphones, laptops, shoes and even their face with stick on swarvorski crystal but why not try it on your wall. This would be a nice idea to jazz up any boring corner.

If you would like to try your hand at DIYing, you can purchase this wall flower Swarvorski crystals designed by Tord Bootje for your walls. Available at Unica Home.

Greentea Design

I'm really excited. I have a sponser for my blog! Greentea design is a Canadian based furniture company that carries a wide collection of Asian inspired furniture and antiques.

Incorporating an exotic item in your home décor could serve as an interesting conversational piece and also up the ‘coolness’ factor of your home. Such as having this beautifully painted tibetan chest as a display piece,

or having this classic chinese sidetable by your bed,

or replacing your dining chairs with this antique carved bench,

or using this Japanese stepchest as a cool room divider...

Visit their website to see more wonderful Asian furniture.

Nursery ideas

I'm so tired taking care of my baby twins, i havent had time to decorate the nursery. Right now, their nursery room looks the worst in my house, with diapers, wet wipes and baby gifts all over the room. I may do away with decorating it altogether.. after all they grow up fast, right?.. they will soon outgrow their cots and by the time i get them each a proper bed i will have to redecorate again..

Feeling abit guilty that i've been decorating the rest of the house except their room, i think i'll do a simple wall mural..

Tried searching for inspiration for nursery rooms on the web. Then i came across Stuartfox's portfolio. These are gorgeous! And can you believe it the second photo is actually a cupboard in disguise.

If only i could paint like that! But sorry gals.. no fairytale rooms for you...

Random Visitor

My hubby rescued this injured Jambul bird a few days ago near our place. It could've been an escaped pet as it seems quite tame. Now my house is officially home to 3 adults, 2 babies, 5 arowarnas, 1 lobster, 2 stingrays, about 6 fighting fishes and 1 bird! and we wake up to its cheery chirping:)

chirp chirp!!

Watermark

oh great. i've been searching for some topics for my blog in google images and came across a familiar photo. Its a photo that i took at home and posted in my blog last year. I was delighted my photo came up first in the google images search! but wads not so great was, it was not from my blog. I went to the website that has my photo and realised they did not even link or credited it to my blog!

So I've decided to include watermarks in my recent photos that i took for my blog. Its a real hassle to add the watermark though. grr.
